I, the blackstreetbbw.com webmaster, can finally report the following real good candid bbw news to all you lovers of thick, curvy black big beautiful women: Blackstreetbbw’s new stealth camera just arrived in the mail today! I had to throw the word stealth in there for sure, because my ‘current stealth’ camera really isn’t that stealthy. I almost want to call it the dangercam now, but that name’s reserved already, as you may already know if you’ve been around on blackstreetbbw enough.
I have a little story around getting it to. Well, I already told you that story, the story about most of getting it, already, but there’s a little story associated with picking it up too!
I looked in my email to check my new spy camera’s expected UPS delivery date and saw… ‘Hey! Today!’ “Better make sure I leave the library early enough to be there when the UPS truck comes. I’d stopped a UPS driver dude that I ran into by chance the other day and asked him when the trucks usually come around my neighborhood, thinking maybe I’d get a sure enough answer, or maybe he’ll just say they come by whenever. I’d heard of them having general schedules before, but I’d also heard of them having some freedom in deciding how to drive and deliver to get everything delivered in an efficient manner. The UPS truck guy told me they usually hit businesses first, then residences after 2. Anyways, armed with that info I had a time to be home, and I did make it on time, but not quite for the right reason! I finally did something I’d always wanted to do with UPS deliveries: stop a UPS drivers and get my package fresh off he big brown truck! I was zipping home through my ‘hood on my bike and saw the truck at a house on my street and said that’s got to be my man! I got his attention, and sure enough, he was on his way to deliver my box shortly after he got finished at the house I stopped him at! He even said ‘let’s take care of you first’ when I said ‘Could you check for a package for me after you do this drop here?’ It’s a real good thing I caught him then, because he drove past me a few blocks before I got to my apartement, even though I was biking quickly, eager to test out my new toy! That means I wouldn’t’ve made it in time otherwise! I like it when things in my life actually go right.
Now it was time to open up my box and see just what was really inside. How close would it come to my expectations, and how close was it sizewise to the picture that I’d been holding an ink pen up to my computer screen for reference? It was a tiny bit bigger than the ideal size it could have been, so that was a plus ’cause I’d prepared for it to be larger and longer. I’d used an ink pen for reference because It was supposed to look like a pen in your pocket(NOT a pen in your hand!)
I could give you a lengthy description of it, but instead I’ll just give you a link and tell you that even though the video quality doesn’t come close to what the dangercam was producing (It’s coming back by the way! Look for it in a future post!), and it cannot, can not, CAN NOT handle dim lighting, it’s so sweet… it even has a ‘new car smell’! (I know that won’t last long, and neither will it’s rubbery coating on it’s cap, I bet)
Well, I guess I could give you a little extra text to read… nah. Don’t feel like it. I’ll just tell you that I’d never’ve bought that camera if a site visitor hadn’t reccommended it to me. He sent me some videos he’d made with a similar camera and told me I should get one too- and that I should email him once I do it. I lost his email I think, so I might not be able to get back to him on that if I can’t find it, but I’ve got to thank him because I’d seen that cam before and said no. Then I bought it ’cause he told me so.
Testing time coming…
I actually really wanted to give this camera a test test run. Like a pretest or something… in the house this time. My other cameras, I only really tested them in the house long enough to make sure I could get them to work like I wanted and that was it. This time I was going to give things a more proper look-over and test. I did a good ammount of walking around the house, testing it out under all the differing low lighting conditions inside to see what the threshold was, and the results were kind of dissappointing. My ‘current’ camera actually works a little better in the dark, and the ‘dangercam’ works a little better than that- no, significantly better- … or at least it did, before I destroyed it. This is probably the most light needing camera I’v had to use, so I gotta watch that. I pointed it at a corner of my room when the lights were off and the shades were drawn, and it showed that entire quadrant as pitch black. I could see the tv over there just fine, but despite the fact that the wall is white, my tv looked like a black cat in a coal cellar at midnight sitting over there off on the camera.
I rounded out the around-the-house lesson using the camera on my neighbor’s very not attractive wife! I actually shot a real woman in my around-the-house testing of my new candid camera! And of course I got away with that.
There was something missing from all my test videos though- sound! I didn’t know if the cam’d have sound or not when I was ordering it because it didn’t say that it had sound, or that it didn’t, so when I saw ‘yes’ beside ‘voice only recording’, I got happy. I looked at the device and saw the mic holes and figured there must be a mic there… but there still ended up being no sound and no way to get it! Looks like we’re going back to silent videos like the classic days!
This reminded me of experiences I had with all my previous spy cameras and something I read on the internet about the asian companies that make their casings. I read there’re a more manufacturers than you can wave a stick at who just make housings for cameras and such. I read about this convention-like thing where they had all those manufacturers there, and they just had all these casings ready-made for gadgets, and they were just waiting for electronics makers visiting the convention to pick thier designs up. I got to thinking about that because, if a device maker never makes their own housings for any of thier circuits, even when thier devices are very specialized, and they never even place special orders, they just buy what’s ready lready, there’s a good chance the housings’ll be out of synch with the circuits they’re protecting. If you buy spy equipment like I do, you’ll see a lot of instances of this. My ‘current’ blackstreetbbw camera is in a case that works great for it, but the carrying case that came with it looks like it was cut to fit by hand! …but that’s a seperate thing. To stay with the aforementioned topic, my new pen pocket spy camera has holes for a microphone, but no mic! WTF?! I turned the audio on my computer all the way up and listened. Nope. No sound. Oh well…
And the way you use the camera’ll take some getting used to too. Hmm… Insert the memory card first (essential, I found, because the device has no built-in memory.). Turn the switch to ‘on’. Press and hold the Record/Stop button for 3 seconds or until the red light comes on (Oh great. another device with that kind of power-on delay! What if I don’t have that kind of time?! Oh well, it’s still faster than the 10 seconds it takes to power-up and ready my existing camera.) After 3 seconds the red Record light will be on. For quality (640×480) mode, press the ‘Mode’ button and the yellow light will come on. I am now ready to film. (For 320×240, skip the Mode button part) To record, press the Record/Stop button. The light will be “a winkling blue”. To stop, press stop and it will be red again. If the battery is too low for use, the light will flash red, and if there’s no room left the red and blus lights will both be solid on at once, even though they’re both in the same LED hole. At first I thought I was messing up when I was using the camera without the memory card in and getting an I/O error when I tried to plug it into my PC. I also thought it charged from the wall, meaning I could bring another camera with me and be charging this one secretly on a public power outlet, like behind a vending machine, while I used the other camera. It said you could do that, but you can’t. You have to plug it into a USB port for charging. Oh well. Oh, and the camera has to be set to ‘On’ when plugged in to be charging, otherwise you’ll be charging it for 14 hours like me because you don’t know how long it takes, only to find it didn’t charge drop. Then you re-read the instructions after missing some low quality test fatty and go back home, and find out how the Record/Stop button will be blinking while charging and steady when done. Okay. Got all that now. Ready for the women to appear!
I found out that that ‘mic’ I saw was actually a speaker. The only time the camera makes a sound is when it makes a very pleasant ‘my battery is dead now’ sound
